Faqs or questions about the register of inventions and copyright for free. The following are some of the FAQS or questions that have been put to - ©DateIt - about the free service we are offering, and also about the register of inventions and copyright.Question 1The name - ©DateIt
- is
unusual because of the ©
,
but how would you pronounce it if you were telling someone about your
free service.
Answer
Simply say it as C Date It
- pronounced as see
date it.
Question 2Is
the - ©DateIt
- registration service only for private individuals?
Answer
Originally,
it was intended for private use only, but there is no reason why it
should not also be used commercially. Perhaps commercial users might
feel better if they made a donation towards the running expenses of
this service. Please refer to the CONTACT
page
Question 3The time
allocated by - ©DateIt
- at the time of registration differs from that shown on my computer.
Answer
This is due
to your computer running local (to you) time. The time in Los Angeles
is different to that in New York, which is different again to that in
London, Delhi or Sydney. One time for 'all' is necessary - global time
- (star date!) - GMT - Greenwich Mean Time - sometimes known as
Greenwich Meridian Time because it is measured from the Greenwich
Meridian Line at the Royal Observatory in Greenwich, London.
Question 4 I wish to register a logo with - ©DateIt - but its
file size is only about 5Kb, is this too small to register
with - ©DateIt.
Answer
No, not at
all. In fact - ©DateIt
- was originally conceived for such modestly sized creations.
Question 5The
large image that I have created
is of
very high quality and has a very large
file size,
and - ©DateIt
- is stating that image files must be reduced in file size to 500 Kb,
but this
gives inferior quality if I were to register with
- ©DateIt.
Answer
Agreed, the
image might suffer lack of quality, but it is not the quality of the
work or creation that you want to register but rather the content. In
any case - ©DateIt
- are recommending that you supply a hyperlink at the time you
register, to your own web page, so that anyone can see the original
work or creation in all its own glory.
Question 6- ©DateIt
- do not
advertise a postal address, how and where do I send my hard copy?
Answer
You
don't. - ©DateIt
- does not hold any original hard copy. We have eliminated hard copy
storage and the related storage costs. All we hold is the electronic
data you give us during the submission and register stages - and the hyperlink to
