Why Register your Copyright and Inventions for free ?

An explanation of the reasons as to why you should register for free, your copyright and inventions with - ©DateIt - and the downside reasons of using alternative methods, are as follows.

Fact, - you have automatic copyright of your work or creation from the moment that you created it. Up and until now the most common way for you, the author, to record your copyright has been to post (mail) a copy of your creation to yourself, in a suitably sealed and stamped envelope, and hope that the post (mail) office stamp it with a legible date stamp. You then do not open this envelope, but keep it in a safe place.

All that this costs you is the price of an envelope and a stamp. But it has its drawbacks. Some of the more obvious being, poor franking by the post office, the envelope not being secure enough to stand up in court, the contents could be replaced, a storage problem and, - it is a rather old fashioned and cumbersome way to record your copyright.

It is mainly for these reasons that a great many authors and creators just do not bother to register at all, that is until now.

Alternatively, you could fill in complex forms, send your creation via snail mail, at your expense, together with a sizeable fee, to a copyright registration service centre. The upside of this is that these services are invariably good, the downside is that it can cost you fairly large chunks of cash at regular intervals.
